Thrust Ball Bearings Sealed - KT-Bearings for High Axial Forces
Our thrust ball bearings sealed (KT-bearings) are specially designed for high axial loads. These single-acting, single-row axial ball bearings provide a reliable solution for axial forces combined with slow rotational and pivoting movements. The sealed design makes them the ideal choice for demanding industrial applications.
What is a Thrust Bearing? - Design and Function
Thrust bearings (also called axial bearings) are rolling bearings that exclusively accommodate axial forces. Our KT-bearings consist of two precisely manufactured thrust rings, a matching housing and hardened rolling elements. The thrust rings are made of case-hardened steel in the standard version.
These thrust ball bearings sealed are specifically designed for high axial loads and offer reliable function through their robust construction. For applications with low axial deformation tolerances, we are happy to advise you on suitable alternatives or special designs.
Applications of Axial Ball Bearings
Thrust bearings are used in many industrial sectors. Typical applications for our KT-bearings include:
- Automation technology
- Swivel units and robotic joints
- Assembly fixtures
- Machine tools
- Fixture and tool construction
- Axial flange bearings for special applications
Housing Materials - Stainless Steel and Other Options
Depending on the operating environment and technical requirements, the housings of the thrust ball bearings are available in various material versions:
Code | Material | Application |
---|---|---|
E | Steel | Standard applications |
VZ | Zinc-plated steel | Corrosion protection |
MS | Brass | Special applications |
N | Stainless steel | Chemical industry, food processing |
NV | Nickel-plated | Surface protection |
High Temperature Bearings - Technical Specifications
Our high temperature resistant bearings operate in the standard version from –30 °C to +160 °C. For versions with zinc-plated housing, the permissible temperature range is –30 °C to +100 °C. Higher temperatures can be realized with special high-temperature greases upon request.
Special Designs and Custom Solutions
In addition to our standard metal solutions, we also develop customer-specific solutions for special requirements. Special types and special sizes can be realized upon customer request - please contact us.

Thrust Ball Bearing Applications - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a thrust bearing?
A thrust bearing (also called axial bearing) is a rolling bearing that exclusively accommodates axial forces. KT-bearings are special thrust ball bearings that can accommodate high axial forces. They consist of thrust rings, a housing and balls and are optimized for low speeds and pivoting movements.
Thrust ball bearing applications - Where are they used?
Thrust ball bearings have diverse applications in industry. Typical applications include automation, swivel units, assembly fixtures and special machine construction. They are particularly suitable for axial loads with slow movements.
What materials are available for thrust bearings with housing?
Housings are available in steel, zinc-plated steel, brass, stainless steel and nickel-plated variants. We also develop customer-specific special solutions for special requirements.
High temperature bearings - What temperatures can KT-bearings withstand?
Our temperature-resistant bearings operate as standard from -30°C to +160°C. For higher temperatures, high temperature resistant bearings with special greases are available upon request.
Are sealed bearings or special sizes possible?
Yes. We also offer sealed thrust bearings (e.g. thrust bearings sealed, thrust ball bearings sealed) in special designs. Thrust bearings without housing or special flange bearings are also feasible.
Thrust ball bearing installation - How are KT-bearings mounted?
Thrust ball bearing installation is carried out according to the technical drawing. The correct alignment of the axial load is important. We are happy to advise you on the optimal mounting of your axial rolling bearings.
Ball bearings axial load - What should be considered?
Thrust ball bearings are specially designed for axial loads. In contrast to normal ball bearings, which mainly accommodate radial forces, our KT-bearings are optimally designed for ball bearings axial load.
