KÜPPER KT bearings are single-direction, single-row thrust ball bearings with a housing. They accommodate high axial loads during slow rotational and pivoting movements. In the standard variants, the thrust rings are made of 1.0330 (DC01) and the balls of bearing steel 1.3505 (100Cr6). In the stainless steel version, the housing, bearing washers and balls are all made of stainless steel. The standard version is oiled. KT bearing design and operation

Thrust bearings (also known as axial bearings) are designed for loads acting along the shaft axis. Our KT bearings consist of two precisely manufactured thrust rings, a matching housing and hardened rolling elements. In the standard variants, the thrust rings (bearing washers) are made of 1.0330 (DC01) and the balls of bearing steel 1.3505 (100Cr6). In the stainless steel version (N), the housing, bearing washers and balls are all made of stainless steel.

The enclosed design holds the bearing components together as a single assembly. For applications with tight axial deflection tolerances, we can advise you on suitable alternatives or custom designs.

In the standard variants, the thrust rings are made of 1.0330 (DC01) and the balls of bearing steel 1.3505 (100Cr6). The stainless steel version (N) is entirely stainless steel: housing, bearing washers and balls.

Temperature range and lubrication

The standard version has an operating temperature range of −30 °C to +160 °C. For zinc-plated housings (VZ), the upper limit is +100 °C. For higher temperatures, we will assess a suitable custom design and lubrication based on your operating conditions. Selecting a high-temperature grease alone does not replace this assessment.

The tables show the dimensions and static load ratings of our KT bearings. d denotes the bore, D the outside diameter and H the height; all dimensions are in mm. The static load rating C₀ is given in newtons (N). Use the drawing number to identify the exact version: some types, such as KT 12, are listed with more than one set of dimensions.

The standard version is oiled. Premium EP grease or high-temperature grease is available on request.

Can I enquire about a custom size such as KT 50?

Yes. Select “Custom size / own dimensions” in the enquiry form. Enter the desired type and, if possible, bore d, outside diameter D and height H in mm in the text field. Select the housing option, quantity and lubrication for each item. A requested type such as KT 50 is subject to a feasibility assessment and is not a confirmed catalogue item.

Are fully encapsulated thrust bearings available?

Fully encapsulated thrust bearings can be requested as a custom design. Describe the required design and operating conditions in the enquiry form so that we can assess a suitable solution.

How are KT bearings installed?

Installation must follow the technical drawing. Ensure that the axial load is correctly aligned. For installation advice, please provide the drawing number and details of the installation.
