Reduce risks and costs

Support roller defects can, depending on the type and severity, bring significant risks:

  • Mechanical damage to the surrounding structural parts of the conveyor (eg belt of the conveyor);
  • Fire, triggered by a hot-running idler (this can happen, for example, in the absence of maintenance of a conveyor or agricultural machinery);
  • Direct risks to personnel (eg.E.g. risks of injury when the defective idler or its parts fall down or by fire);
  • Indirect risks for personnel (e.g. risks of injury during work on idler replacement);
  • Risks due to disruption of the operation of the equipment (e.g. damage to the goods in a unit conveyor due to an idler defect).

We always take the necessary countermeasures to reduce the probability of occurrence of such situations as far as possible or even eliminate them. Examples include:

  • Standard use of optimized rolling bearings with improved emergency running properties to avoid hot spots;
  • Mechanical safeguarding of the idlers in the idler stations;
  • Use of non-flammable or flame-retardant materials (eg polyurethane);
  • Development of modern condition monitoring systems for idlers.

Who uses durable products, generally also experience their failure and defects less often. You can easily help reduce the risks by using our idlers.

Averting the dangers described above already leads to indirect cost savings. But by using high-quality and durable products, operating costs can also be reduced. And this leads to the direct cost savings and is carried out by, among other things:

  • Reduction of energy consumption;
  • Reduction of the number of working hours required for maintenance of the equipment (e.g. for idler changes);
  • Avoidance of unplanned downtime (especially for critical non-redundant conveyor systems, such as ship loaders).
