Ceramic coated idler pulleys

For our customer in Germany, which operates over 250 km of conveyor belt systems, we have developed the deflection rollers (also called "deflection rollers" for low wrap angles) with ceramic coating.

These rollers are used in the lower belt of the conveyor belt systems near the deflection, tensioning, or drive drum and ensure correct belt guidance. They are subjected to extremely high radial loads and run in constant contact with the contaminated belt side. This leads to the extreme wear load on the idlers.

In these conditions, deflection idlers in the conventional design had a service life of only a few weeks in the past.

By using the ceramic coating, which is about a factor of 60 more wear-resistant than steel S235, we were able to achieve the service life of the deflection rollers of several months or years.
