At this year’s World Leading Trade Fair, the Institute of Logistics and Material Handling Engineering at Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, has presented the latest developments of the joint project "Sensing Idler".KÜPPER’s “Sensing Idlers” are equipped with temperature sensors that continuously send data to the connected IoT control box. This collective and smart condition monitoring of conveyor-belt systems warns operators of an impending roller failure at an early stage, thus preventing unplanned belt downtimes and increasing the efficiency of the conveyor system through a higher overall productivity.
